Banff National Park

Wedding photography in Banff.

Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, Two Jack Lake, the Fairmont Banff Springs — I'm based in Calgary and shoot in Banff often, in every season the park opens for.

Where

Locations I shoot in Banff.

Moraine Lake

The postcard shot for a reason. Road access to Moraine Lake changes with the season, so if it's on your list, it's worth talking through timing early rather than assuming you'll drive straight there.

Lake Louise

Busy fast once the sun's properly up in summer. Sunrise is the easiest way around the crowds, and gives the best light besides.

Two Jack Lake

Quieter than Moraine or Louise, easy to reach, and a genuinely underrated backdrop. A good option if you'd rather spend less of your day travelling between spots.

The Fairmont Banff Springs

A proper wedding venue in its own right, if you're getting married there rather than shooting portraits around it.

Not sure which of these fits your day, or want to see somewhere that's not on this list? Tell me what you're picturing when you reach out and I'll help you land on it.

Photographed at Emerald Lake, Yoho National Park — about an hour past Lake Louise, and a location I shoot often for Banff-based couples doing a longer day of portraits.

Permits

I handle the paperwork.

Banff National Park requires a commercial photography permit for most wedding and portrait locations inside the park. I hold mine and take care of it before your day — you don't need to arrange anything.

Weather and seasons

Every season looks different here, and that's the point.

Rain, snow, overcast, I shoot through all of it, some of my favourite images have come out of the heaviest downpours. Winter brings shorter days and softer light rather than a reason to stay inside.

Let's talk it through.

A short call will tell you more than any website can. We'll go through your date, your location, and whether I'm the right fit.
