A couple stand at the edge of a mountain lake at dusk on their wedding day.

Wedding photography that feels like a good day.

I'm Jacob. Weddings, elopements and engagements; in Calgary, Canmore, Banff, Jasper, across Alberta, and wherever else you're headed.

Recent work

Candid, cinematic, and a bit more colour than most.

The groomsmen crowd out of the windows of a dark vintage car, laughing, a small white prairie church behind them.
The wedding party throw their arms up together as petals fall under the trees.
Two figures in cowboy hats watch fireworks burst overhead.
A bouquet of caramel roses and dried grasses, held close.
A couple walk a garden path in low evening light, yellow flowers in the foreground.
A couple lean into each other on a grey pebble shore, a wide felt hat trimmed with dried flowers held up to hide the kiss.
A couple stand close together, a veil drifting across the frame.
A bride laughs as confetti falls around her in a sunlit forest clearing.
A couple hurry down a flight of steps, the sea behind them.
A bride in an open-back gown with a long train, in the room where she got ready.
A couple stand by a lake framed by golden autumn leaves.
A couple in hats and cream suits stand together on a pebble beach.
A bride in an embroidered dupatta holds her bouquet.
A couple stand before a small white prairie church, the sun flaring behind the steeple.
A couple in white stand on wooden steps surrounded by greenery.
A hand wearing an engagement ring rests on the brim of a felt hat.

Every collection includes

  • Someone calm running the photography side of things, so you don't have to think about it
  • Your photos backed up multiple times
  • Your full gallery delivered within 30 days

Elopements and engagement sessions are priced separately; ask and I'll send the details.

What it's like

Booked, captured, delivered.

  1. Before

We chat before you book, and keep talking after. If it's not the right fit, I can point you in the right direction.

  2. On the day

The truth is, you'll spend more time with me than anyone else on your wedding day. We're gonna have fun. I'll make sure you have enough water, and nobody has to perform.

  3. Afterwards

Your photographs are backed up twice from the moment the day ends, and three times by the time I get home. Your images are heirlooms, and will be treated as such.

  4. The gallery

Your full gallery arrives within 30 days. Not next season, not after the busy months; within 30 days.

Calgary, Alberta

Home base.

Calgary is where I live and where most of my weddings start and end, whether the ceremony's downtown, out toward the foothills, or the whole day happens in the city. If your day is somewhere further out, Banff and Canmore are an easy drive from here, and I cover both often; see the Banff and Canmore pages for what that looks like, or the destination page if you're headed further still.

About

Hello. I'm Jacob.

I've been photographing people long enough to have stopped trying to make a wedding look like anything other than what it actually is; which, on the good ones, is a bunch of smiling faces, a few tears, and a lot of people you love in one place, some misbehaving.

Couples tend to describe the day as feeling like hanging out with an old friend. That's about the highest compliment this job offers. I'm not going to run your day like a drill sergeant, and I'm not going to ask you to walk towards the camera laughing at nothing.

When I'm not photographing weddings, you'll find me shooting for brands I genuinely admire, or teaching and speaking to other photographers. I've been lucky enough to work alongside Nicole Ashley, Lindsay Coulter, Taylor Jackson, Sam Hurd and Jeremy Cowart. Those names may not mean much if you're not in the industry, but they do mean this: the technical side is handled.

I'm currently booking 2026 through 2028. Reach out with your date and I'll let you know what's still open.

In their words

"From the moment we met, we knew we'd found the right photographer. Neither of us is comfortable in front of a camera, but somehow every photo feels completely natural. We never felt posed or awkward. It honestly felt like we were just spending the day together while a friend happened to be documenting it."

Let's talk it through.

A short call will tell you more than any website can. We'll go through your date, what you're picturing, and whether I'm the right fit. If I'm not, I'll say so and point you toward someone who is.
